Please read below for the details on the upcoming October Happy Hour and Club Chili Cook Off. \n  \nWHAT: Club Happy Hour and Chili Cook Off \nWHEN: Thursday\, October 17 \nWHERE: The Boathouse Bar & Grill  (Upstairs) \nTIME: 5:00  PM \nREASON TO PARTY: Texas Sealife Center \nENTERTAINMENT: Billy Snipes 6 PM – 8 PM \nWe will have a couple of Raffle Baskets and Door Prize too. The Boathouse will have specials going on. \n  \nDetails on the Chili Cook Off \n  \nAny club member may submit their Chili for judging by our phellow club members. There will be a $5 donation to be the taster/judge of the chili’s submitted so if you want to judge the chili’s submitted be sure to bring your $5; you will receive a wristband and a ticket to drop into the ticket container for your favorite Chili! The club will furnish the tasting cups and spoons and napkins for each submission. \n  \nEach member submitting their Chili will need to furnish an extension cord\, serving ladle or spoon. \n  \nALL Chili Submissions must to be ready by 5:15 PM for Tasting/Judging that will begin 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Our February Club Happy Hour will be February 15\, 2024; please see details below: \n  \nWHAT: Padre Island Parrot Head Club of CC Happy Hour Phlocking \nWHEN: Thursday\, February 15th \nTIME: 5:00 PM \nWHERE: HardKnocks on the Island \nWe have a pretty busy February so this Happy Hour will just be a phlocking for phun with each other! \n************* \nOur Club is participating in the Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade again this year too and that is coming up this Saturday. If you want to walk in the Parade with us\, dress in your most colorful Mardi Gras Colors\, Grass Skirts\, Coconut Bras\, Tutu’s\, Pirates Costumes\, Mermaid Costumes; I think you get the idea\, just come and have phun. We line up for the parade at 9 AM Saturday morning on Windward as in years past. We will have a home base for our club set up on the beach close to the Pavilion area; look for the banner & decorations. \n  \nWe also have our Padre Island Parrot Head Club of CC 4th Anniversary Party on Saturday\, February 24 at Bluff’s Landing Resort over the bridge on 4242 Laguna Shores Dr.\, cost is $60 per person and will include Rudy’s BBQ\, 2 free drink coupons\, then cash bar\, Anniversary Cake\, and Raul Ayala Band playing from 7 PM to 11 PM; we also plan to have corn hole earlier\, around 3 PM for phun and friendship. They have a little 18 month old son\, Armani\, and could use some help from Santa. We would love to help them this Christmas. We just found out about them and know that they need some wrapped toys for an 18 month little boy and clothes size 18 month\, shoes size 5C. Mom and Daddy have not asked anything for themselves\, but if you have it in your hearts\, I am sure they would appreciate anything like maybe an HEB Gift Certificate or Gift Certificates they could use to help them through the Christmas Holidays.  Please bring what you choose for them to our Happy Hour and we will get it all to them the next day. They need moisture and protein.\nLatex or similar gloves – I use 20-30 pairs each week.\nThings I use daily for colony cats:\nPurina Naturals dry food\nFriskies canned food\nThree colonies of cats that are fed daily because they have no one. They\nhave all been sterilized and vaccinated\, and flea preventative is applied as\nfunds allow.\nMonetary support is always a huge blessing to pay for TNR surgeries\, and I help as many injured or sick cats as I can even if it’s necessary for euthanasia to end suffering. I also use the funds to purchase the flea preventative at P.A.A.C.\, the low-cost clinic on Ayers.\nThings you might have at home:\nLinens – towels (all sizes)\, sheets\, pillowcases\nPlastic utensils (like what you get in your takeout meals)\nSmall to medium plastic bowls like from microwave meals\, or shallow bowls from yogurt\, cottage cheese\, or sour cream.
